The
remains of the islands second pier after January storms washed away
the top of half of the structure.
Wind speed reached around 120 mph during this storm. Coupled with
the low pressure
tide heights reached their highest since the 1930s. Nonetheless by
God’s Grace we lost only this pier
and a wooden pump house which was lifted in the air and dropped about
20 yards from where it had been anchored.
