In the bleak mid-winter...
Scenes of the winter months in the monatery.

...Frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron,
Water like a stone...

The flag of the United States of America flies over
the monastery refectory on Thanksgiving Day.

Novice Br Stanislaus puts the finishing touches to the task of powerhosing the flagstones of the old stable.

...In the bleak mid-winter, A stable place sufficed,
The Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ...

Redemptorists in refectory

The monastery refectory with its carpet of straw for the Christmas season
is witness to the opening of your many cards on Boxing Day.

The steel-framed building which will serve as
a library has been erected during December
Two new barns and a very large greenhouse
are now near completion.

...What can I give Him,
Poor as I am,
If I were a shepherd,
I would bring a lamb...

Some of the monastery’s harvest of 2004 lambs
are shipped for sale.

The remains of the islands second pier after January storms washed away the top of half of the structure.
Wind speed reached around 120 mph during this storm. Coupled with the low pressure
tide heights reached their highest since the 1930s. Nonetheless by God’s Grace we lost only this pier
and a wooden pump house which was lifted in the air and dropped about 20 yards from where it had been anchored.
